Sociology 102 Introduction to Sociology Session1 3:00-4:30PM

This course will explore basic concepts, theories, and methods related to contemporary sociology, as it emphasizes sociological perspectives, various social theories, culture and society, the process of socialization, social interaction and social structure, groups and organizations, deviance, social class and strafication, race and ethnicity, families, religions, schooling and society, economy and work, health care, and collective behavior. All of these and other issues will be studied as they apply to health care and nursing profession. Our readings will alternate from social theory to sociology for nursing, as we read one chapter from one class text and one chapter from the other one.
